About this Volunteer Opportunity

Enjoy the great outdoors of sunny South Florida and share your love of nature with children in our beautiful Wetlands Preserve! Let’s get those children outside for an enjoyable nature experience and to learn about our wonderful Florida environment!

Assist staff and/or lead students during activities which may include marsh hikes, boardwalk tours, dipnetting, storytelling, crafts, etc. Most activities are outdoors, and some will include hiking through various terrains, including mud and water. You may choose to help with specific activities.  Most programs occur on weekday mornings.

*Minimum volunteer age 16 years old and up. A volunteer application and background check are required.

  • Must enjoy working outdoors with students of all ages.
  • Must become familiar with various activities to know what equipment and/or materials are needed.
  • May choose to only participate in specific activities.
  • Training provided.

Weekly volunteer shifts preferred with a minimum of three shifts per month required.  Volunteer shift times will vary depending on program, but are approximately 3 to 4 hours.
