The Mandel Public Library of West Palm Beach welcomes over half a million visitors annually and loans over 700,000 items to 100,000+ library cardholders

) – With an emphasis on continuing to build a high caliber professional team of educators, the Mandel Public Library of West Palm Beach
recently announced several promotions across various departments to meet the needs of the local community.
Janice Collins Kathy Hage Janet Norton Lena Safi Theresa Salantrie
has been promoted to the position of Adult Services and Programming Manager where she will develop a variety of innovative programming for adult library patrons including art classes, fitness classes, tech classes, lectures, music lessons, cultural performances and more. Collins has been with the library since 2003 and received her Master’s degree in Library & Information Studies (MLIS) from Florida State University.
was promoted to Youth Services Supervisor, where she will oversee outreach and partnerships and work to leverage library and community resources to support families, educators and youth. Hage is a Michigan transplant who received her MLIS from Wayne State University. She has been with the library for 10 years.
will lead the Technology Department as Library Supervisor, where she will manage a team that offers patrons computer and career programs to educate and enrich their lives, as well as assist with customer inquiries. Norton has been with the Mandel Library for 15 years and received her degree in Library Science from the University of Maryland.
, has been promoted to Technical Services Supervisor, where she will oversee all stages of ordering and processing new library materials and the management of the library’s catalog system to ensure a positive user experience for patrons. Safi has been with the library since 1997 and received her MLIS from Florida State University.
, the new Circulation and Technical Services Manager, will supervise the operations of the library Circulation and Technical services staff, help launch new resources and leverage existing collections to best meet the needs of the community. Salantrie has worked at the library for 10 years, received her MLIS from USF, and is a member of the Florida Library Association.
“These exciting promotions of dedicated library staff members reflect our commitment to excellence and fostering a community dedicated to growth,” said Christopher Murray, Library Director of the Mandel Public Library of West Palm Beach. “These newly appointed members of the Library Management Team have already made significant contributions that will enhance the services and offerings to our patrons across the board.”
