The program’s goal is not only to feed less fortunate families, but to include children to participate in the November 16th and 17th giveaway.
West Palm Beach, FL (Nov 8, 2018). The City of West Palm Beach Police Department announces the implementation of a new program this fall. “Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway” will provide 150 meals for families in need. All local elementary school teachers will be asked to select vulnerable families they feel may qualify for the Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway and provide those interested families with an application.
The program’s goal is not only to feed less fortunate families, but to include children to participate in the November 16th
giveaway. This will provide an opportunity for children to join our Community Response Team officers and our West Palm Beach Police Explorers in participating by providing the Thanksgiving meals to 150 West Palm Beach households.
As an added incentive, Rich’s Ice Cream Co. has generously offered to cater an ice cream event for the school that collects the most non-perishable food items.
Special thanks to Publix, Rich’s Ice Cream, Florida Crystals, Blue Line Innovations, and the Palm Beach County Convention Center for its support.
