While the City of West Palm Beach’s annual and popular “Summer in Paradise” campaign is in the rearview mirror until next year, Clematis by Night is prepared to keep the City’s summer celebrations going a little longer. Through August, Clematis by Night has extended hours – offering free entertainment, food and drink specials, and seating under the stars - from 6 – 10 p.m. on Thursdays.

In addition, on Thursday, August 2, the “Hot Spot to Chill” will also debut the newest “Hot Spot to Shop.” The “Antique and Flea Market at Clematis by Night,” an addition to the Saturday staple that has been downtown for more than 8 years, will feature a variety of antiques and unique finds. The market will be set up under the trellises along South Clematis Street, similar to how GreenMarket vendors are stationed under the shaded treetops. Vendors will sell a variety of antiques and crafts, including, jewelry, clothes and decorative items. The flea market will keep the same hours as Clematis by Night, from 6 – 10 p.m. in August, and 6 – 9 p.m. in September and beyond.

The Antique and Flea Market at Clematis by Night is run by First Choice Antiques and Bill Jacobsen, who runs the well-known seasonal Saturday market. In addition to managing and coordinating the vendors, Jacobsen is also a vendor himself, offering shoppers mid-century glass and furniture mixed with some “hooks” – items he defines as unique enough to draw people in. The Saturday show includes vendors from as far north as Vero Beach and as far south as Miami. According to Jacobsen, shoppers travel from just as far as the vendors for the prospect of a unique find.

Clematis by Night takes place weekly on the West Palm Beach waterfront at 101 N. Clematis Street.
