WPB TO RECEIVE $700,000 IN GRANTS FOR ROSEMARY PROJECT, PUBLIC SAFETY AND CRITICAL INCIDENT RESPONSE
The funds will support the City’s larger Rosemary streetscape project to improve safety for walkers, bicyclists and motorists
WEST PALM BEACH, FLA. (April 16, 2018)—The City of West Palm Beach announces it is the recipient of $700,000 in state funds designated for two important city projects and efforts: the Rosemary Project and to improve critical incident response and public safety.

The Florida Department of Transportation has awarded $400,000 to enhance lighting along the Rosemary Avenue Corridor, north of Banyan. The funds will be matched by the West Palm Beach Community Redevelopment Agency for greater impact. The funds will support the City’s larger Rosemary streetscape project to improve safety for walkers, bicyclists and motorists and to encourage private investment along this important connective corridor between the Historic Northwest and Downtown. This bill was sponsored by Senator Bobby Powell (District 30) and Representative David Silvers (District 87).

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement has awarded $300,000 to the City for equipment to improve critical incident response and public safety. The City will match this grant for greater impact. The funds will be used to assist in buying the highest priority equipment items to help respond to incidents quickly, safety and effectively. This bill was sponsored by Senator Bobby Powell and Representative Rick Roth (District 85).

Mayor Jeri Muoio and the City of West Palm Beach are grateful to Senator Bobby Powell, Representative David Silvers, and Representative Rick Roth for their support.
