07/11/07 – Several media outlets have incorrectly reported details of the South Dixie Highway/Monceaux Road construction project, including inaccurate information about road closings. In the interest of clarification, the City of West Palm Beach would like to reiterate that the only road work talking place on S. Dixie Highway is at the intersection with Monceaux Road, and that all businesses along South Dixie Highway are open to customers. Please refer to the information below for project details.
As a result of an ongoing City of West Palm Beach project near S. Dixie Highway and Monceaux Road, the intersection of South Dixie Highway and Monceaux Road will be closed for a period of 60 (sixty) days beginning Monday, July 9, 2007. The only area under construction is the intersection of S. Dixie Highway and Monceaux Road.
Residents, businesses, and customers will continue to have access to their destinations during this period. Through traffic will be rerouted at Southern Boulevard and Belvedere Road. Through traffic will be routed to Parker Avenue.
The City is replacing underground storm drainage, sewer, and water piping infrastructure at the intersection of South Dixie Highway and Monceaux Road.
