Florida Culinary to Fire Up the Burners for Thanksgiving

Preparations Underway for 16th Annual Share-A-Supper Thanksgiving Dinner

Florida Culinary kitchens are firing up the burners and cooking up a storm as over 500 students prepare and cook over 100 turkeys for the City’s 16th annual Share-A-Supper Thanksgiving feast for the needy.  Come watch all the activity as Florida Culinary students prepare the turkeys with all the trimmings for the Thanksgiving buffet to be held at the Pleasant City Multicultural Center Gym on Tuesday, November 20, 2007 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Turkeys are provided by WPEC News 12’s Project Thanksgiving and the United Way.  

Thanksgiving dinner is prepared by the Florida Culinary Institute.
Additional sponsors include Cheney Brothers, Coca-Cola Bottling Company, Publix, Sysco Southeast, Rachel’s, Melanie Barnum of Mac Fabrics, Gospel Explosions, “4 Ever Praise” Dance Group, Annette Brown, Blum Foundation and all the supporters of the Pleasant City Multicultural Community Center.


Over 500 Florida Culinary students help prepare the Share-A-Supper meal.
The students fit this community outreach program into their regular curriculum.  The entire meal for over 1000 people is prepared in two days.
The bake shop turns into a mashed potato station for an entire day.
In 16 years, over 1600 turkeys have been served to over 16,000 people.
