MLK Day – A Day of National Service Feeding the Homeless & Hungry

When: Monday, January 19th, 2009 – From 10:30am to 1:00 pm
Where: Salvation Army Northwest 600 North Rosemary Avenue West Palm Beach, FL  33401 

To celebrate MLK Day, on Monday, January 19th at 12 Noon, The City of West Palm Beach’s Vickers House in Partnership with Art and Compassion, Food not Bombs and Salvation Army will host a lunch program for people who are Homeless and Hungry.  

Art & Compassion will lead a service to commemorate Martin Luther King Jr’s life of service, while volunteers serve sandwiches to the Homeless.  Vickers House is inviting the community to volunteer to help make sandwiches beginning at 10:30 on Monday then stay for this wonderful and inspiring service while serving those who are in need of a donated lunch.  We hope to inspire and reignite the tradition of service and volunteerism in our community!
