On Saturday, August 29, 2009 from 8:00 to 11:00 AM. join us for a morning of lake cleanup and weeding at Elders’ Cove in Dreher Park in West Palm Beach! As part of the International Coastal Cleanup under the direction of Keep Palm Beach County Beautiful, we will be cleaning up the two northern lakes. A great opportunity to play in the dirt and support your exceptional neighborhood / regional park!
As volunteers, you will be working in sunny, wet and dirty conditions. It is strongly recommended that you wear closed-toe shoes such as old sneakers and wear hats for sun protection. A lightweight long sleeve shirt (old) can help protect against the sun as well. Please bring your own garden gloves for weeding. Plastic disposable gloves will be provided for picking up trash. Insect repellent and sunscreen are also strongly recommended.
Registration will begin at 8:00 am. Please sign in and receive instructions prior to starting cleanup. Community service hours are available for students – you must register and have the site manager sign off before leaving.
