DEE DEE WILDE BAND

Dee Dee Wilde is one of South Florida’s most dynamic and captivating entertainers known for her talent to sing low and sweet like Sade, tempestuous like Chaka, or dramatic like Whitney.  Dee Dee has performed as a soloist on the LP’s of some impressive artists including James Brown, Phyliss Hyman, Howard Hewitt, INXS, Gerald Albright and Gerald Alston.  Dee Dee has also had two of her own hits from her two albums, “No Way Out” and “Getaway”.   Don’t miss her group’s tight and versatile performance on the Clematis by Night stage full of warmth and good cheer.  A portion of this evening’s proceeds will benefit Firestorm, a camp for young adults.

Category 5 is the Treasure Coast’s premier Blues and R&B band playing music that will get you out of your seat and keep you on your feet.  Fueled by a phenomenal rhythm section and two hot guitars, Category 5 plays a variety of music including traditional blues by such names a T-Bone Walker and B.B. King to classic R&B hits from Wilson Pickett and Aaron Neville, and everything in between.  Be sure to catch Category 5 at their debut performance at Clematis by Night as they blow us away!

RIVERDOWN

Riverdown is an explosive, versatile live cover band delivering sucker-punch arrangements wrapped in a power rock package.  They will take you through an evening of timeless classics and staples of solid rock-radio to a wealth of preeminent progressive current rock.  This band boasts four accomplished musicians who are all competent lead singers as well and will switch it up in a Chinese-fire-drill type manner, keep their show fresh and full of surprises.  Riverdown has a good time wherever they go, and they will make sure you have a good time too!

It’s Reggae Night and we are feelin’ alright!  So come and check out the tropical reggae rhythms of Sweet Justice, a band on the cutting edge of reggae with an energizing sound.  This Clematis by Night favorite will bring you to your feet with their Caribbean sounds and just make you wanna move to the groove and dance the night away.  A portion of this evening’s proceeds will benefit the Pineapple Park Neighborhood Association.

BIG SKY REUNION SHOW

After twelve years, nearly 50,000 albums sold independently, and acquiring a lifetime of stories, the members of Big Sky played their final tour in early 2005.  Big Sky’s definitive studio album aptly titled, This Monstrosity, echoed what this humble five-piece rock band weathered over the years together.  Although this popular group from Gainesville, Florida disbanded a few year ago to pursue new endeavors, they still have a strong bond and come together every once in a while to rock the house.  You don’t want to miss this rare reunion show!  A portion of this evening’s proceeds will benefit the Amara Shiners.

Scholars Word is a reggae/dub band based out of Florida that’s been together for almost a decade touring all over the U.S.  Never one to compromise the sound or message of reggae, Scholars Word has strived to remain true to the art while maintaining their original style and letting their different musical influences shine through.  They have just release a new Dub Collection CD, just in time for their return to Clematis by Night.  A portion of this evening’s proceeds will benefit the Young Friends of the Kravis Center.

OCTOBER 22
MARIO LaCASSE BAND

This four-piece blues band describes their sound as “A Cluster Funk of Blues & Rock.”  Mario is a veteran musician known for his ability to play the right note at the right time with the right feel.   The undeniable charisma in his playing has led his peers to dub Mario as THE REAL DEAL.  Come check out one of the most respected and liked guitar players in our area play his Jazzy Swamp Funk Boogie Soul Music.  A portion of this evening’s proceeds will benefit the Northboro Park Neighborhood Association.

Clematis by Fright is The Hot Spot for Thrills & Chills this Halloween.  The City of West Palm Beach will add the “scare” to Centennial Square and “creep” to Clematis Street as they “spook up” Downtown West Palm Beach with costume contests for all ages, free candy for the kids, and much more.  And you can do the monster mash all night as The Fabulons, Florida’s favorite party band, bring a wide variety of party music to our Halloween event.  Come down in your best costume and enjoy tons of frightful family fun for FREE!

CHUBBY CARRIER & the Bayou Swamp Band

Straight from the bayou, Chubby Carrier is bringing his zest for zydeco to Clematis by Night.  This accordion player will show us his creole concoction of rock, soul, and R&B.  Come prepared to party bayou style because no one will be left sitting when Chubby brings his high energy dance party and swamp funk to Centennial Square.  In Chubby’s words, “Ain’t no party like a Chubby party, ‘cause a Chubby party don’t stop!”

Ruby Baker’s got it and when she hits the stage, she is always a big hit!  Ruby has delivered captivating performances to worldwide audiences with a powerful warm and soulful voice that will touch your heart.  Having made a name for herself in South Florida, Ruby has performed with BB King, Kenny G, Ray Charles, Bonnie Raitt, and Gloria Estefan.  Come catch one of the best Rhythm and Blues/Jazz/Gospel artists as she takes the stage at Clematis by Night.

RULING MERCURY & BIG BANG RADIO

Come out this Thursday and rock out with TWO amazing local bands, not just one!  Ruling Mercury is an indie pop/rock band with a positive message.  This band has quickly made a name for themselves on the local music scene with lots of media attention, an album of original music entitled “Kindle”, and a new 5-song EP.  Big Bang Radio is also a homegrown rock/pop band who is quickly paving their road to stardom having recently opened for Daughtry, Candlebox, The All American Rejects, The Strokes and Mat Kearney.  Big Bang Radio fuses rock, fun and pop to ensure that fans get a big bang for their buck.
A portion of this evening’s proceeds will benefit the Palm Beach Association of the Deaf.

Directions to Clematis by Night
From I-95 exit east onto Okeechobee Boulevard.  Travel east on Okeechobee until you reach Quadrille Boulevard.  Turn left (north) onto Quadrille Boulevard and proceed north until you arrive at Clematis Street.  At Clematis Street make a right (east) and continue east past Olive Avenue to Centennial Square.  Centennial Square is located in the 100 block of Clematis Street between Narcissus Avenue and Flagler Drive.

Parking
Ample public parking is available at the following City garages and surface lots at reasonable rates:
The NEW Clematis Street Garage, located on the corner of Clematis Street and Quadrille Avenue.
The NEW City Center Garage, located on Dixie Highway between Banyan Street and Clematis Street.
The Banyan Street Garage, located at Banyan Boulevard and Olive Avenue, just one block North of Clematis Street.
The City Hall surface parking lot, located East of City Hall at Olive Avenue and Banyan Street, just one block North of Clematis Street.
The Evernia Street Garage, located at Evernia Street and Olive Avenue, just two blocks South of Clematis Street.

Numerous private parking lots in the downtown area are also available for parking and a free trolley runs round-trip from Clematis Street to CityPlace.
