Division Wins SEVEN Awards in International Competition
(Monday, October 5, 2009) 4th on Flagler, the WPB GreenMarket and Kaleidoscope, all events you love and enjoy every year FREE of charge, were among the City of West Palm Beach events honored with 2009 Pinnacle awards, given by the International Festival and Events Association (IFEA).
In all, the City’s Community Events Division took home seven Pinnacle Awards, including four “Gold” awards, the highest honor awarded by the IFEA. Among the events receiving the Gold level of awards was the “City Center Grand Opening,” which was honored with the Best New Event award.
“The outstanding, family-friendly events we host on a regular basis bring thousands upon thousands of visitors to our downtown and help make our City a vibrant destination,” said Mayor Lois J. Frankel. “I congratulate the Community Events Division for their hard work and creativity.”
“The Community Events Division is proud to have the events we produce acknowledged internationally for their success and importance to our community,” said Community Events Division Manager Mary Pinak. “We are further excited to bring back from the Convention many new ideas to enhance our current events and develop new events for our beautiful new waterfront.”
The winners of gold Pinnacle Awards were: City Center Grand Opening, for “Best New Event”; Kaleidoscope 2009, for “Best Community Outreach Program”; the Kaleidoscope banner for “Best Street Banner”; and, the 4 th on Flagler postcard for “Best Miscellaneous Printed Material.
The IFEA Pinnacle awards honor the many outstanding promotional and media initiatives striving for the highest quality in festival and special event promotions. Founded in 1956, the IFEA is the premiere association supporting and enabling festival and event professionals worldwide.
