(12/01/09)  A local couple will be getting a major upgrade to their home– free of charge and just in time for the holidays— as part of the City’s “Paint, Plant and Pave” grant program.  Workers will begin making improvements to the exterior of their home at a special press conference on Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at 10:00 a.m.  The home is located at 806 7th Street in West Palm Beach.

The “Paint, Plant and Pave” program provides homeowners with up to $6,000 in grant money for improvements to the exterior of their homes.  It is a part of the Community Redevelopment Agency’s efforts to revitalize the Greater Northwest area of the City.  So far 35 families are signed up for the program and the City’s Community Redevelopment Agency plans to recruit dozens more.

To be eligible for the grant, homeowners must live in a single-family home in the area that is targeted for redevelopment that is north of Banyan Boulevard, south of Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard and between the F.E.C. and the C.S.X. railroad tracks.
