National Community Development Week

On Tuesday, April 26th, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., the public is invited to join Mayor Jeri Muoio, West Palm Beach City Commissioners and the City’s Department of Housing and Community Development as it hosts an Open House Reception at three newly constructed single family homes adjacently located at 804, 808 and 812 22nd Street within the historic Coleman Park Community. These homes are among a total of eighteen (18) single family homes constructed with the US Department of Housing and Urban Development Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP). NSP assists eligible home buyers with an opportunity to purchase quality homes at affordable prices. This Project is an integral component of the City’s redevelopment plans for the Coleman Park and Pleasant City Neighborhoods.

At the Reception, the City’s commitment to community and economic development will be recognized through a formal presentation lead by Mayor Muoio, to begin at 11:00 a.m. Keepsakes, food treats and literature will be made available to guests at the Reception. The event is part of the City of West Palm Beach’s Celebration of National Community Development Week 2011 – April 25th through April 30th.

Also, Thursday, April 28th, the Department of Housing and Community Development will engage in a community walk throughout selected neighborhoods to distribute packets and inform residents about the various housing and related services offered by the Department.
