City Commission Redistricting Information

Public Meeting on City of West Palm Beach Reapportionment

The City is required by charter to reapportion the City Commission district boundaries within six (6) months of official publication of the 2010 Census data, which was released on March 17, 2011.

For this redistricting effort, City Staff successfully utilized specialized redistricting software and created a new commission district map that represents: 1) nearly equal population in each District; 2) each District population within the required 10% deviation between the District with the highest population and that with the lowest population; 3) Districts being arranged in a logical and compact geographical pattern; and 4) Districts that promote fair representation.

The City Commission will hear this item at its July 25th meeting.
