A DAY OF “GREEN” FUN AND EDUCATION

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (February 8, 2012) — The fourth annual e4 Sustainability Summit on February 10-25th, will offer many days of fun and education to help local residents learn “green” best practices to save them water, energy and money. This year’s Sustainability World summit has expanded tremendously from last year’s summit. Presented by the City of West Palm Beach Office of Sustainability, the free events will be held at the Waterfront Commons,LEEDSilver-certifiedLake Pavilion.
Mayor Jeri Muoio and Brian Mudd from 1290 WJNO will open the reception on February 10 @ 6:00pm. Commissioner Bill Moss will give a presentation on Preserving Grassy Waters. Music performed by Alexandra Kaye and music selections by Jordi Zindel, Jr., along withBenjaminSchoolstudents. There is a Green Basket Give Away too!
The Lake Pavilion at the Waterfront is host to the exhibit mentioned below, which opens on February 10 and will remain on display until February 25 with workshops and environmentally themed movies in the Pavilion during the two weeks leading up to the green expo. The movie AVATAR will also be shown at Screen on the Green Feb. 10. The Expo on Feb. 25 is dog-friendly, and there’s free parking in the Banyan Street Garage until 3:00 p.m. Attendees will have the opportunity to see the fully electric Nissan Leaf, the new Fisker Karma, and the Chevy Volt in addition to touring the Smithsonian’s Green Revolution, USGBC Neighborhoods Go Green! exhibit. Guests will get helpful information including how to conserve energy and water and promote “green” activities for home or business during the “eco” product/services exhibition.
