Summer season will be held weekly on Wednesday nights May 23 through Sept. 19
The City of West Palm Beach announced today that its popular GreenMarket, located on the Waterfront Commons Great Lawn, will host its first and highly anticipated summer season from May 23, 2012 to September 19, 2012. The GreenMarket will be “Fresh on Wednesday” evenings from 5 to 8 p.m. so guests can beat the heat while shopping during the summer months. During season, the GreenMarket is held on Saturday mornings.
“Our thousands of GreenMarket fans have been clamoring for a year-round event for several years so we are thrilled we can offer it this summer. Expect the same high-quality, locally grown products from dozens of vendors sprawled along the Great Lawn overlooking the Waterfront,” said Mary Pinak, Community Events manager.
During the GreenMarket each Wednesday, visitors can browse more than 60 vendors offering fresh fruits and vegetables, bakery and confectionary items, flowers, orchids, plants and trees, gourmet foods and items from local restaurants. Everything from chowder, pickles, fresh-cut flowers, cupcakes and smoothies to homemade dishes will be available. Guests can enjoy free entertainment and activities on the Great Lawn each week.
The GreenMarket is dog-friendly and always FREE. Those interested can also take advantage of the City’s free docking at its three public docks.
The WPB GreenMarket is produced by the City of West Palm Beach Department of Parks and Recreation Community Events Division. It is sponsored by The Palm Beach Post, Palm Beach Daily News, WIRK 107.9 FM, Sunny 104.3 FM, and Coca-Cola.
