Mayor Muoio Supports Autism Awareness

Where: Royal Park Bridge and City Hall Lighting goes Blue for Autism Awareness

West Palm Beach Mayor Jeri Muoio participated in the lighting of the Royal Park Bridge on Thursday evening to show support of Autism Awareness. The middle bridge joining Palm Beach and West Palm Beach was illuminated with special blue lights during a ceremony with Mayor Muoio, Autism Speaks Co-founders Suzanne and Bob Wright, and local families on Thursday evening. The lighting ceremony served as the local kick off to Autism Speaks’ global 3rd Annual Light It Up Blue campaign to celebrate World Autism Awareness Day on April 2 and Autism Awareness Month.

In addition, Mayor Muoio, threw in her support by changing the lighting at the City Hall Penthouse (the area below the dome) to blue lights on Tuesday, April 2, 2012. Throughout the month of April family friendly events and activities, will be held in honor of the individuals, their family and friends, who are affected by autism.
