Great American Cleanup Saturday – WPB Locations

What: Great American Cleanup Saturday – West Palm Beach Sites

When: Saturday, April 21, 2012 various times

Where: Various locations

West Palm Beach is turning out in great numbers this Saturday to support the Great American Cleanup as part of an effort coordinated by Keep Palm Beach County Beautiful, Inc.

City employees from the office of the Mayor, Parks and Recreation, Police, Public Works, and Code Enforcement will join residents, community leaders and volunteers from throughout the region to direct a community effort at enhancing and improving their neighborhoods. A variety of parks, canals, lakes, streets, beaches and private property will be scoured for litter, old tires, cast-off debris and anything that does not belong. Waste Management is donating a used tire dumpster specifically designed to collect old tires so they can be recycled.

Local non-profit, Keep Palm Beach County Beautiful, Inc. and the Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County encourage you to get involved in the 2012 Great American Clean-up™, a national campaign organized by nonprofit Keep America Beautiful. To usher in Earth Day 2012, the Great American Clean-up will take place in Palm Beach County officially on Saturday, April 21, with additional dates. Volunteers can visit the Keep Palm Beach County Beautiful website at www.keepPBCbeautiful.org for further details and sites or call (561) 686-6646 for more information. Volunteers are encouraged to pre-register by contacting the volunteer coordinator at their chosen location. All supplies will be provided and commemorative t-shirts will be given away to volunteers while supplies last. Community service hours will be given.
