FEC Railroad to Partially Close Okeechobee Blvd for Crossing Repair

FEC work will close westbound crossing Sunday morning until Wednesday Morning

Florida East Coast Railway (FEC) will be closing the westbound lanes of Okeechobee Blvd at the FEC railroad tracks for repair work beginning Sunday, July 29, 2012 and lasting until Wednesday morning, August 1, 2012.

(For clarification, the FEC tracks are the tracks that run parallel to Quadrille Blvd.  They are NOT the tracks used by Tri-Rail.)

Eastbound traffic will not be affected by the FEC project.

Beginning 6:00am Sunday, July 29 and ending 6:00am Wednesday, August 1, the westbound lanes of Okeechobee Blvd will be closed at the FEC tracks. Westbound traffic will be detoured onto northbound Quadrille Blvd. They can follow Quadrille Blvd north to Banyan Street where they can head westbound on Banyan Street to Tamarind Avenue. Drivers can then head south on Tamarind Avenue to rejoin Okeechobee Blvd.

The closure is due to FEC repair work.  Inquiries should be directed to FEC Roadmaster Kenny Robinson at tel: 772-216-4125
