EMERGENCY FLOODING MEASURES BEING TAKEN IN WPB
WEST PALM BEACH LIBRARY CLOSES EARLY
The City of West Palm Beach is taking emergency steps to reduce the flooding in several city neighborhoods.
The City is pumping 97 million gallons out of the Grassy Waters Preserve in order to make additional room to absorb excessive drainage from several communities and neighborhoods in the City.
The city has also dispatched vacuum trucks to help clear roads being flooded by overflowing neighborhood lakes and canals.
Several roadways are considered dangerous for driving. Use extra caution in the Villages on and around Village Blvd, Shenandoah Dr. & Saratoga Rd. Also Haverhill Rd near 45th street area. DO NOT DRIVE THROUGH FLOOD WATERS. WPB Utilities is taking steps to help water drain. Please obey police & barricades if necessary.
The City of West Palm Beach will be closing its library early tonight. The Library will close at 6:00pm Monday.
