West Palm Beach, FL – City of West Palm Beach crews are working today on draining flooded neighborhoods across the city.
The Department of Public Utilities has dispatched special equipment designed to vacuum up standing water from roadways and intersections. The crews have been working almost around the clock to drain the hardest hit neighborhoods and streets in the City.
The Villages are currently among the hardest hit neighborhoods, and that is where several of the crews are focused today.
Also affected are the communities in the western sections of the city. In order to increase drainage from those communities, the City has been discharging almost 100 million gallons of water from its system to make room to absorb the flooding in those areas.
Crews are expected to continue to work around the clock to help lower the water levels.
