(West Palm Beach, FL) – Mayor Jeri Muoio used the kick off to the 2013 West Palm Beach Boat Show to announce the City’s new plans to revitalize the north end by creating a new marine industry village.

The Mayor told a group Thursday the city is going to be reaching out to the vendors and businesses in town for the boat show to tell them about the new plan. The City is targeting the Broadway corridor to develop a marine village which will be the home to all types of businesses related to the marine industry.

This was one of the top priorities Mayor Muoio mentioned during her State of the City Address in January.

Among the new programs, there will be economic incentives offered to attract new business. These will be in addition to current incentives available through the City’s Community Redevelopment Agency.

The new efforts include job creation incentives, as well as assistance for exterior and interior building improvements.

The plan is to lure marine business to cluster around the Rybovich marina on the north side of the city, creating new jobs in what is a growing industry.
