WPB Commissioner Sylvia Moffett to Attend “Big Ups for Babies” this Saturday

May 31, 2013

(West Palm Beach, FL) – West Palm Beach Commissioner Sylvia Moffett will be attending this weekend’s “Big Ups for Babies” event.

The event is being put together by Bridges of Palm Beach County.

Bridges, a program of the Children’s Services Council of Palm Beach County, are gathering places that connect local families to community resources so more children are born healthy, remain free from abuse and neglect, are ready for kindergarten, and are on grade level by the end of 3rd grade.

The Bridges program is Run by the Children’s Home Society and Community Partnership Group and funded by the Children’s Services Council.

“The Bridges coordinated the Strong Starts Dialog Groups which took place in various locations in the county over the past months,” said West Palm Beach Commissioner Sylvia Moffett.  “The Bridges Northwood Dialogue Group created the action statement:  “An educated community leads to positive parents who produce healthy babies.”  Based on that statement, we organized the Big Ups for Babies Event which will take place this Saturday, June 1st from 12:30-3:00,” said Moffett.

Registration is at 12:30pm  and needs to be completed by 1:00 in order to be considered for the wonderful prize drawings which include Infant car seats and many gift certificates.  The event will take place at Northmore Elementary School which is off of Windsor just south of 45th Street.  The event will take place rain or shine.
