City Commissioners, Mayor & WPB PD Canine Unit visit hospitalized children at Quantum House

June 13, 2013

(West Palm Beach, FL) – You’ve probably heard that elected officials “serve” the public. ¬†How about how police officers “serve and protect”?

But Wednesday at Quantum House at St. Mary’s Medical Center, members of the City Commission, the West Palm Beach Police Department & the Mayor were doing some “serving” of a different kind.

They all came together to provide dinner for hospitalized children and their families.

City leaders contributed to pay for a special meal for the families staying at Quantum House.

Before dinner, the West Palm Beach Police K-9 unit staged a special demonstration for the children, and the kids had a chance to get up close and personal with WPB PD’s four-legged officers.

Quantum House is a caring and supportive home that lessens the burden for families whose children are receiving treatment in Palm Beach County for a serious medical condition.
