(West Palm Beach, FL) – Did you know the Small Business Administration lists having a website as one of the top ten priorities for growing a small business?

According to the SBA, “customers discover a business through an online search engine. Be sure that your business has an online presence in order to maximize your exposure.”

But despite the fact that 97% of internet users are now looking online to find local products and services, 58% of American businesses still do not have a website.

West Palm Beach Mayor Jeri Muoio is hoping to change that in her city. She has just joined with Google for a yearlong initiative to get West Palm Beach’s businesses online through Google’s Get Your Business Online program.

Get Your Business Online provides small business owners with a custom domain name, web hosting and access to educational resources — all free for one year.

“Small businesses are the backbone of our city’s growth, and businesses that are online grow faster and are twice as likely to create jobs here in the city,” said Mayor Muoio. “Their stories of success are our stories of success, and that is why I am proud to launch this initiative here in West Palm Beach.”

Encouraging business growth in the city has been a priority of Mayor Muoio since her election, and remains a cornerstone of her administration.

Any business owner who wants to take advantage of the Get Your Business Online program can visit www.gybo.com for further information on the program.
