July 23, 2013
(West Palm Beach, FL) – Development of the city’s north end neighborhoods topped West Palm Beach Mayor Jeri Muoio’s agenda today as she met with Florida Governor Rick Scott.
The morning meeting took place at a downtown restaurant, where Mayor Muoio made sure the Governor understood that developing the north end of the city including the Broadway corridor is a top priority. Broadway is a state controlled roadway.
“We had a good discussion,” said Muoio. “I wanted to make sure the Governor understood how important the development of the area is to our residents and for the economic future of the city. Our plans to transform the Broadway corridor into a more pedestrian-friendly center of commerce are the first step in our larger plans for the entire area.”
Governor Scott met with individuals from several cities. Also discussed was the need for pension reform across the state.
