10/7/13 – Chapel By The Lake Requests Vote Delay on New Design

Two Towers

October 7, 2013

(West Palm Beach, FL) – Within hours of submitting revised plans for the Chapel By The Lake property, the developer has asked to postpone the latest city commission vote on the project.

In a letter submitted to the city late Monday, the developer is asking that the scheduled October 15th vote be delayed until the end of the month.

The request, according to the developer, is to “allow for the distribution and evaluation of the significant changes to the architectural site plans and elevations submitted today in response to concerns expressed by several of the City Commissioners at our previous public hearing.”

Those “significant changes” include scrapping the original design which was one single tower on the site and replace it with two towers.

Project planner Kieran Kilday told the Palm Beach Post “the new design, which will be more expensive,┬áleaves the same number of units but┬ámakes two round towers instead of a more rectangular single structure.” Kilday added the new design “opens up the sky.”

The City Commission will consider the delay request at their October 15th meeting.
