Annual Share-a-Super to Feed 1,000 Families Holiday Dinner

Tuesday, November 26, 2013

4:30pm – 6:30pm

Pleasant City Recreation Center, 500 22nd Street; West Palm Beach

(West Palm Beach, FL) – The City of West Palm Beach is proud to announce the 22nd annual Share-A-Supper Thanksgiving Dinner scheduled for Tuesday, November 26, 2013, from 4:30-6:30 p.m.

This event, produced in partnership with the Lincoln Culinary Institute, will be held in the Pleasant City Recreation Center located on 22nd St. and Spruce Ave. in West Palm Beach.

This Thanksgiving dinner is advertised in the area neighborhoods and flyers are sent home with the children from the recreation center to publicize the free dinner.  We usually serve 800 to 1,000 people and donate any leftover food to local church groups.

With the help of many, Share A Supper comes together for a successful event.  The director of the Pleasant City Recreation Center will set up the gym with tables and folding chairs.

Among the agencies participating are the United Way, Anchor Restaurant Supply, Cheney Brothers, Coca Cola, Publix, Rachel’s, Sysco, Tulipan Bakery, Sweet Endings and WPEC Project Thanksgiving.

Children in the after school program make place mats for the tables.

The Lincoln Culinary Institute students prepare the turkeys, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, vegetables, and cranberry sauce.

Local suppliers donate the food for the side dishes, supplies to distribute the food and paper products needed for the dinner.
