(West Palm Beach, FL) – It has been over a decade in the making, but today ground was broken for the new convention center hotel in West Palm Beach.

Attending a special program at the Convention Center on Friday from the City was West Palm Beach Mayor Jeri Muoio, and City Commissioners Keith James, Shanon Materio and Sylvia Moffett.

Mayor Muoio, addressing a room full of invited guests acknowledged the work of the city’s partners in making the hotel a reality, including Palm Beach County and the Related Group.

One of Mayor Muoio’s top priorities remains developing strategies to increase the amount of economic activity in the city, and having a new convention center hotel will significantly help that efforts.

“This project will have a significant impact on all our city has to offer, and will serve as a great magnet for people from all walks of life to come to West Palm Beach and experience our one-of-a-kind world class exciting city,” said Mayor Muoio.
