Tennis Center Closed for Improvements

09/05/07 – The City of West Palm Beach’s Howard Park Tennis Center will be closed for improvements from Monday, September 10, 2007 through Monday, September 17, 2007.  The courts we re-open on Tuesday, September 18, 2007. The tennis center will be closed because the courts are being resurfaced.

City Continues Restoring Wilderness Park

June 19, 2007 – City workers are continuing renovations and upgrades to Apoxee (pronounced uh-po-ee) Park, a wilderness area set aside for preservation, environmental education, and public enjoyment.  City crews have been treating and eradicating more than 75 acres of invasive and damaging vegetation, helping restore the park’s natural ecosystem.

Hundreds of Kids Competing in City’s “FitKids” Triathlon

05/16/07 – Kids looking to challenge themselves and have a great time will be running, swimming, and biking as part of the upcoming “FitKids” Triathlon at Gaines Park, located at 1501 North Australian Avenue.  The event begins at 8:30 A.M. on Sunday, May 20, 2007.

Wonder of Water Tour

05/10/07 – There are still a limited number of spaces available on the fascinating “Wonder of Water” tour to be held this Saturday, May 12, 2007, beginning at 9:00 A.M.  This free tour of the City’s water system begins at the Grassy Waters Preserve South Side Nature Center, located at 8537 Northlake Boulevard.
