The location of the Northwest neighborhood positions the area as one of the gateways into downtown West Palm Beach.
Predominantly residential, the majority of the area is designated as a historic district. The CRA anticipates streetscape improvements on Sapodilla Avenue, Division Avenue, 7th Street and Douglas Avenue. Along Tamarind Avenue, the CRA has replaced the trees. In conjunction with the City, the CRA will issue an RFP for 50 single-home infill lots. Further improvements planned for the Northwest area include property acquisition, the rehabilitation of historical structures and the redevelopment of the area between Tamarind Avenue and the CSX Railroad from 7th Street to Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard.
