If your event involves the placement of tents, the event promoter or tent representative will need to bring the following to the Fire Department, 500 North Dixie Highway:

Site plan including tent placement. Tent placement is not permitted within 10 feet of any structure.

Flame certificate for the tent or tents. All tents, booths or canopies used for cooking or vending shall be of fire retardant material.

Inspection Costs
Fire Code Inspections of the tent will take place prior to the event and billed according to the following schedule:

1 - 3 tents $35.00 per tent
4 - 50 tents $10.00 per tent
51 - 100 tents $20.00 per tent

The maximum fee for fire code inspection of tents at any one special event shall not exceed $2,000.00

Once you have received a form from the Fire Department the event promoter or tent representative must complete a permit application located at Construction Services 30 days before the event begins set up on site. Permit fees are calculated on percent of work valuation.
