Arrest Made; Equipment Stolen from Youth Baseball Team

Jamal Williamson

Jamal Williamson

On June 23, 2014, the victim reported that his baseball travel team’s sport utility vehicle was burgled overnight while parked at the Hawthorne Suites Hotel, 301 Lamberton Drive. A hotel security officer noted in his log that a vehicle was “in and out” of the parking lot the same evening, which was registered to a hotel guest, Jamal Williamson. The following day, the Riviera Beach Police Department located Williamson in its jurisdiction and notified our agency. When interviewed, Williamson confessed to the burglary, which included the theft of baseball gloves, baseballs, hats, bats, and numerous other items including computer equipment. Unfortunately, only three items were recovered, and the Red Scenes Athletics, a 14 and under travel team from Charlotte North Carolina, is in need of its stolen equipment.
