Department liaisons are representatives from each department of the City who formed the “CityGreen Team.” The Office of Sustainability has partnered with these representatives to reach the City’s goals to reduce its energy use and provide for a sustainable community for all its citizens and businesses.
More specifically, Sustainability staff, in partnership with the department/division liaisons, consults with City departments and assists them with sustainability efforts by identifying current sustainable/green practices as well as future possibilities for energy reduction. Liaisons act as the communication conduit for their respective departments and divisions. They work with the Office of Sustainability to develop the City’s sustainability policy. The Office of Sustainability is responsible for collecting data on a number of indicators to track the City’s progress toward meeting the sustainability goals. In addition to working with government programs, the Office will be developing initiatives focused on residential and business sustainability.
