Do you want to raise tomatoes and vegetables in a sustainable way – with fewer pesticides? Mike Page will show you how. Mike is an avid South Florida vegetable grower who stresses sensible approach to smaller-scale backyard or container vegetable growing. Mike will offer tips and techniques on site preparation, seedling establishment, planting, maintenance, pest and disease control and harvesting. He’ll take you on a tour of our vegetable garden to show you creative ways to grow vegetables.
In the second part of the program, you’ll learn how to create compost for your vegetable or garden beds.
This class counts toward the Gardening in the Sub-Tropics certificate program and may be taken in place of the October Urban Farming class.
