USGBC South Florida Chapter Hosts Green Building Workshop

July 11, 2013 @ 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm

The Palm Beach Branch of the USGBC South Florida Chapter has an enviable track record of hosting outstanding educational programs and tours, and this month’s program is certainly no exception!

Mark J. Stempler, Esq. will be speaking on The Legal Risks in Green Construction for Owners, Builders and Design Professionals.  This program will take place at the Mounts Botanical Garden located at 531 North Military Trail, West Palm Beach, FL 33415.

Mr. Stempler will examine some of the legal risks of pursuing a green building project, such as meeting LEED (or other) certification goals, identifying “green” materials to be utilized, building performance expectations, and cost and completion thresholds. We will get an overview as to how those issues and concerns can be addressed in the contracting process, which is the most effective way to reduce potential liabilities on all sides of the project.

Mr. Stempler is Board Certified by the Florida Bar in Construction Law, and is certified as a LEED Green Associate by the United States Green Building Council. He focuses his practice in the areas of construction litigation, government bid protests, and civil litigation.

In addition to a top-shelf green-building education program, this month’s program will feature:

  • Delectable edibles.
  • Exceptional networking opportunities.
  • An outstanding venue.
  • Great camaraderie and fun.
