(West Palm Beach, FL) – You might call it “Cliff Notes” for the West Palm Beach city budget. Today the City released this year’s issue of the “Budget in Brief” booklet.
The sixteen page booklet is an easy-to-digest summary of the proposed city budget that will be up for approval by the West Palm Beach City Commission over the next few weeks.
This is the second year the city has published the booklet in an effort to open up the budget process to the public and make it as transparent as possible.
“I am sure most people don’t have the time to go through the hundreds of dense pages that make up the actual proposed budget, but they still are interested in seeing what their city is doing,” said West Palm Beach Mayor Jeri Muoio.
“The Budget in Brief booklet allows our residents to quickly understand where we’re heading,” added Muoio.
The publishing of a Budget in Brief booklet by the city Finance Department began last year, and is part of Mayor Muoio’s ongoing “Open Access” commitment to make city government as open, transparent and accessible as possible to the public.
