Match Up Program at the Vickers House
Seniors in today’s economy cannot make ends meet, they are renting out rooms in their homes often becoming victims of crime by the hands of their renters, therefore our seniors need a way to supplement their incomes which will be safe.
At the Vickers House we have Created a Match-up program where Seniors can come to the Vickers House to fill out an application for a “Job Wanted”, once completed their skills will be outlined, hours available noted, and a resume created. This information will be formatted into a Personal Job Wanted Poster then emailed to 196 local businesses. If businesses want to meet the senior, the Vickers House will make the introduction in a safe and secure manner.
This new program will make the businesses aware of great people who want to work, eligible seniors with skills. The employer & potential senior employee will be responsible to work out all the specifics, including background checks, and negotiating work schedule and wages.
This will give seniors looking for work the exposure to businesses that they would not have normally had, thus allowing them the opportunity to make money to support themselves while participating in the community.
This Program is also available to those seniors who only speak Spanish.
This is a “Free Service” provided by the Vickers House, for more information please contact;
