PRIOR TO ENTERING ANY SHELTER FOR ALCOHOL / SUBSTANCE ABUSE RECOVERY, INDIVIDUALS SHOULD CONTACT THE COMPREHENSIVE ALCOHOLISM REHABILITATION PROGRAM (C.A.R.P.) IN ORDER TO DETOX.

MANY OF THE PROGRAMS LISTED BELOW WILL NOT ACCEPT INDIVIDUALS WHO HAVE NOT BEEN THROUGH DETOX.

Fees:  FREE at the beginning for homeless individuals and 30% of gross income (if there is income coming in)  when they start working after recovery

Services:  Residential transitional program – recovery programs for drug /alcohol addiction including one for those just out of detox, and another for those who have graduated from a program and are seeking a half-way house type of living situation.  GED preparation and testing; basic adult education; budget management; and interviewing skills

Services:  Men work in various areas:  dock, receiving furniture/donated items, minor repairs, kitchen, lawn maintenance, laundry, and selling items available to the public.  Bible classes are held 4 days per week, church services.  8 months program, residents are given housing, food, clothing and personal items.  Medical cards are available after 90 days.  Will pick up new applicatns at the Boynton Beach Tri-Rail station or the Boynton Beach Mall.  CHRIST CENTERED PROGRAM.

 

 

Fern House:

Services:  Six-month program.  They also have an “aftercare” program of 90 days

 

 

Halfway Houses of Florida, Inc.:

J.A.Y. Ministries (Jesus and You):

Servies:  A safe haven for men in need.  They offer 6,9, and 12 month programs.  Included – daily Bible studies.  Placement center which offers to find new locations when they have completed their stay.  There are 2 phases:  The Regeneration Phase, which lasts 90 days, and the Halfway House, which lasts as long as necessary.  CHRIST CENTERED.

Fees:  Rent – 30% of income

Services:  Supportive transitional home for 15 homeless men with substance abuse problems.  Must stay at the facility 2 years to work.

 

 

Palm Beach Recovery Coalition, Inc.:

The Phoenix House:

Services:  25 bed living facility.  provides a sober environment for men dedicated to recovery from alcohol or drug addiction.  Free transportation for men dedicated to recovery from alcohol or drug addiction.  Free transportation to work and church.  Homeless assistance, emergency food and clothing, addictive disorder, life skills training and more.

Services:  Must be resident of Palm Beach County.  Not appropriate for those with drug / alcohol  dependency / severe mental health problems or those adjudicated delinquent – Provide emergency shelter, youth can access help by going to any safe place site in Palm Beach County – Center provides food, clothing and counseling for youth.
