Community Events Overview

The City of West Palm Beach, together with Habitat for Humanity of Palm Beach County, numerous local affordable housing-related non-profit agencies and Palm Beach County artists will create a Global Fairytale Village with 12 unique, outdoor playhouses for this year's Summer in Paradise.  Each playhouse will be painted by a talented local artist to represent a well-loved fairytale representing one of the 78 countries that Habitat for Humanity of Palm Beach County serves through their Global Village initiative.

Each playhouse will also be paired with a Palm Beach County non-profit agency.  These non-profits will actually build their playhouses on a designated “build day” in May under the direction of Habitat for Humanity of Palm Beach County.

The Global Fairytale Village will debut at the June 7 Clematis by Night and will be open every day for free child play through the July 26 Clematis by Night when they will be auctioned off live to the public.  The proceeds will benefit our non-profit partners.

Request for Proposals from Artists:
Proposals from Palm Beach County artists are being sought to design the 12 unique playhouses based on the global fairytale theme during Summer in Paradise activities.  Please click here to access the artist proposal application package.

Nonprofit Application Process:
Twelve local nonprofits will be awarded the opportunity to each pair up with a Global Fairytale Village playhouse.  The nonprofits will promote to their Social Media fans and followers to come down throughout June and July to see and play in the Global Fairytale Village as part of Summer in Paradise.  At the July 26th Clematis by Night , the playhouses will be auctioned off “live” with proceeds from the sale of each benefitting the nonprofit partnered with the playhouse.  Please click here to access the nonprofit application package.
