Office of the City Clerk

The Office of the City Clerk functions as the official record custodian, official custodian of the seal of the city, supervisor of City elections, and the city records management and records disposition program administrator.

The City Clerk is responsible for attending all City Commission meetings, keeping the official minutes of all meetings of the City Commission, assisting in the preparation of official documents, countersigning official documents, attesting to all city documents, and codifying and recording all local laws, ordinances, resolutions and legal documents adopted by the City Commission.

The City Clerk handles the sale of city cemetery plots, researching public records requests, administering Oaths and Affirmations, publishing legal notices, updating and distributing supplements to the City Code and updating City Financial Disclosure Statements.

Pursuant to Section 30-1 of the City of West Palm Beach Code of Ordinances
And Ordinance No. 4860-19
The City of West Palm Beach will hold a General Municipal Election on Tuesday, March 17, 2020, and Run-off Election, if ncecessary, on Tuesday, March 31, 2020, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. for the purpose of electing three City Commission seats: one in District 1, one in District 3, and one in District 5. Persons seeking election may qualify with the City Clerk beginning at noon on Tuesday, December 3, 2019, and ending at noon on Tuesday, December 17, 2019. Qualifying is held during regular office hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
All persons seeking election as a City Commissioner shall be a qualified elector of the City and shall be a resident of the district from which he or she is to be elected. A candidate for the office of City Commissioner shall have continuously resided during the six-month period immediately prior to the date of election in the respective district from which the candidate seeks to qualify for election. The City Commissioners are elected at-large on a nonpartisan basis by a citywide vote.

De acuerdo al Código de Ordenanzas sección 30-1 y Ordenanza No. 4860-19 de la Ciudad de West Palm Beach.
La Ciudad de West Palm Beach Realizará una Elección Municipal General el día Martes 17 de Marzo del 2020 y las terminará si fuese necesario el día Martes 31 de Marzo del 2020 entre las horas de 7:00 a.m. hasta las 7:00 p.m. con el propósito de elegir tres posiciones para comisiones de la Ciudad: Uno para El Distrito 1, Uno para El Distrito 3, y Uno para El Distrito 5. Las personas que buscan ser elegidas pueden calificar en la Secretaría de la Ciudad comenzando al mediodía del día Martes 3 de Diciembre del 2019 y terminando al medio del día Martes 17 de Diciembre del 2019. Las Calificaciones se realizarán durante las horas regulares de oficina, de Lunes a Viernes, de 8:00 a.m. hasta las 5:00 p.m.
Todas las personas que buscan ser elegidos como un Comisionado de la Ciudad debe ser un elector calificado de la Ciudad y deben ser Residentes de El Distrito en donde El o Ella buscan ser elegidos. Un candidato para ocupar la oficina de Comisionado de la Ciudad debe haber vivido un periodo de seis meses continuos inmediatamente previos a la fecha de la elección en el respectivo Distrito donde el candidato calificó para la elección. Los Comisionados de la Ciudad son elegidos por la mayoría de votos de toda la Ciudad y no por partidos político.
