Role:
The Planning Board recommends to the City Commission whether or not specific developments and subdivisions conform to the principles and requirements of Zoning and Land Development Regulations and the Comprehensive Plan. They also serve as an advisory board for the function of considering Class A special use permits, official map changes, and zoning code text amendments.
Application Deadlines and Meeting Dates:
All application deadlines are strictly enforced. The applicant must have an appointment with a planner to submit the application. All applications must be submitted to the Planning Department office no later than 12:00 pm on the day of the deadline. In order to be accepted, the application must contain all required items and information described in the application. Partial applications will not be accepted for placement on the Planning Board agenda until all such materials are submitted.

Planning Board Meetings:
The Planning Board normally meets in the Commission Chambers of the City of West Palm Beach City Hall on the third Tuesday of every month at 6:00 pm. Please check the agenda prior to a meeting to confirm time and location.

The Planning Board consists of seven members and one alternate member. Regular members may vote on any matter considered by the Planning Board at any regular or special meeting. In the event of the absence or inability to vote of one or more of the regular members, the alternate member may vote on any matter considered by the Planning Board.
