The project features a Complete Streets approach and supports the safe use and mobility of all users, including pedestrians, bicyclists, motorists, and public transit riders, regardless of age or ability.
The City and it's consultant, DDEC, LLC, have come up with three concepts for the three main sections of the project. Each one incorporates vehicle travel lanes, bicycle lanes and sidewalks. The three proposed project sections are for Australian Avenue to the for three segments of the project between Australian Avenue and Broadway crossing both the Tri-Rail/SFRTA and the Florida East Coast/Brightline railroad tracks.

Also under consideration are four types of bicycle lanes and separation options. Two options provide concrete barrier separations, a third includes bollards and a fourth has pavement markings. Under Florida law a motor vehicle shall yield three feet between a vehicle and a bicycle.
The 25th Street Improvement Project is a priority project for the City of West Palm Beach. The project is currently in the design phase. We anticipate construction to begin in 2026 or 2027.
The 25th Street Improvement Project will revitalize the 25th Street area, by providing safety and infrastructure improvements, connecting neighborhoods, and enhancing links to surrounding neighborhoods. Declining street conditions and aging infrastructure will be replaced or upgraded. The City of West Palm Beach is improving city streets for everyone. This project is both an infrastructure improvement and quality-of-life enhancement for our community.
Each city project considers the particular neighborhood and works to minimize construction impact on the community. Comments or questions may be shared at the city by using the contact information below.
The city seeks input from the public on bicycle facilities to be located in the project section between the SFRTA/Tri-Rail Railroad and Tamarind Avenue.
We want to hear from you.
