Dear Residents of West Palm Beach,

As your Fire Marshal, it is my responsibility to ensure the safety of our community. One of the key steps to achieving that goal is through fire prevention, education, inspection, and investigation.

Fire prevention is crucial in keeping our homes and businesses safe. We encourage everyone to take steps to prevent fires from occurring, such as ensuring that electrical wiring and appliances are in good condition and not overloaded, avoiding the use of candles and smoking indoors, and keeping flammable materials away from heat sources.

Regular fire inspections are also important in identifying potential fire hazards before they can cause harm. Our department conducts routine inspections of buildings and facilities to identify any safety concerns and provide education on how to address them.

In the event of a fire, our department conducts thorough investigations to determine the cause and prevent future incidents. We work closely with other agencies to investigate fires and ensure that all safety requirements are met.

Remember, fire safety is a shared responsibility. Let's work together to prevent fires and keep our community safe.

Sincerely,

Division Chief of Fire Prevention and Fire Marshal

Peter M. Leduc

These inspections are conducted by trained and certified inspectors who evaluate fire hazards, building materials, and emergency response systems.

The inspection process includes a detailed assessment of fire alarms, sprinkler systems, extinguishers, and other fire safety equipment. The goal of these inspections is to identify potential fire risks and to ensure that all necessary measures are taken to protect the public and property from fire hazards. Fire safety is paramount and we are committed to ensuring that our citizens are protected from the dangers of fire.
