WPB and FAMU Partnership The City is working with Florida A & M University's (FAMU) cooperative extension program to plant community gardens and teach nutrition.
Closing The Gap The City of West Palm Beach is committed to racial equity and is partnering with the Florida Housing Coalition to invest in Black homeownership as a participant of Closing the Gap, a Florida Housing Coalition.
1400 in 8 Early in 2024, Mayor Keith A. James announced an ambitious plan to create 1400 affordable, workforce homes by the send of his second term as Mayor. This was the third time he set the bar. In 2021, he set it at 300-in-3 years. In 2023, he challenged developers to create 600-units in 3 years. After exceeding 600 units. he raised the bar to 1400-in-8 years.
Surplus Property for Affordable Housing Purposes The City of West Palm Beach is required every three years to adopt an inventory list of all real property within the City to which the City holds fee simple title that is appropriate for use as potential affordable housing.
Reports and Notices The City participates in federal HUD programs. In order to receive the funds, the City of West Palm Beach must adopt an Annual One-Year Action Plan that is consistent with its Five-Year Consolidated Plan.
Community Partners To bring services to the residents, the City works with numerous agencies throughout the Palm Beach County area and the state.
Community Services Division The City of West Palm Beach strives to provide an integrated array of housing and support services in an effective and cost-efficient manner for the greatest number of homeless in need.
