Sodium Hypochlorite Storage and Feed System

Project Description

The City’s water treatment and pumping facilities deliver approximately 31 MGD of water through its water storage and distribution system. There are six existing water storage and re-pump stations within the City’s water distribution System five of which currently use gaseous chlorine. Under this project, five (5) existing chlorine gas disinfection systems will be replaced with sodium hypochlorite storage and feed systems thus eliminating the use of gaseous chlorine. Converting the remote facilities from gas to liquid chlorine will improve safety and reduce risk.
