Ultraviolet Disinfection Treatment System

Project Description

In 2015 the City approved the implementation of Ultraviolet (UV) light for treating 47 million gallons per day (MGD) flow at their surface water treatment plant (WTP). This reliable and cost-effective alternative will improve disinfection performance.

A new building will be constructed to house the UV system. This new building will maintain the architectural style of the water treatment plant. The UV building has been designed to incorporate the plant’s Mediterranean revival architecture incorporating original materials such as barrel tile roofs, textured stucco and cast stone embellishments. While respecting the existing architectural style, the UV building is designed for today’s code requirements as well as the highest efficiency of the plant function, maintenance and operations.
