Competitive Salaries

The City of West Palm Beach is a municipality where performers blossom and operational excellence is a hallmark. To maintain and build its stellar workforce, the City is strongly committed to providing its employees with competitive salaries that are at, or above, the regional market, and superior comprehensive health and retirement benefits. To ensure we attract the finest candidates, the City implemented implement a new salary structure on October 1, 2023 in which all non-public safety pay ranges and minimum starting salaries will increase by 7%. Additionally, all City positions, including on-call and part-time positions, have a minimum hourly starting salary of $17.00 per hour, or higher. More than 50 different pay grade positions were upgraded to ensure they are the most competitive in the municipal job market.

Health Benefits

The City offers quality healthcare insurance to eligible employees that work 30+ hours per week. These benefits, provided by Cigna Health Care are available for eligible employees, their dependents, and/or registered domestic partners. Coverage will be effective the 1st of the month following 30 days of employment.

CitySTART Employee Orientation

The City "rolls out the red carpet" to welcome our newest team members. As a new City employee, you will attend CitySTART Employee Orientation at City Hall to learn our culture, policies, procedures, benefits, training opportunities, and more. In addition, your orientation experience will continue at your department where you will receive a tour, meet your co-workers, learn about your job, and more.
