What: This Labor Day weekend, the City of West Palm Beach is calling all Parrotheads for special Clematis by Night to celebrate long-time part-time Palm Beach County resident Jimmy Buffett. The FREE event will include a well-known Buffett tribute band, the Caribbean Chillers, and a “Bubbles Up” homage. Attendees will be provided with bubbles to blow at a specific point in the evening, honoring the late singer in a meaningful and visual display of affection. Fans are advised to arrive early, as bubbles will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Local food and drink vendors will be on-site with goods for purchase – including, of course, margaritas!

The Parrot Heads for the Palm Beaches, Inc. and the Friends of Manatee Lagoon, Inc., will be on hand to celebrate and honor the late singer and the causes he supported.

When: Thursday, August 29, 2024

6 – 9 p.m.

Where: Waterfront Commons, 100 N. Clematis Street, West Palm Beach, FL 33401

Note: The closest public parking garage is the Banyan Public Parking Garage, located at Banyan Boulevard and Narcissus Avenue.

Why: The City of West Palm Beach has hosted the award-winning weekly concert series — Clematis by Night, where music and memories are made — nearly every Thursday from 6 – 9 p.m. on the West Palm Beach Waterfront for nearly three decades. The weekly event includes live performances of various music genres from popular national, regional, and local bands alongside on-site food and drink vendors. Admission is free, and the City recommends concertgoers bring chairs and blankets.

Jimmy Buffett was a singer/songwriter for over five decades, who died at 76 years old on September 1, 2023. His songs captured his life experiences — the people, places and stories he encountered- resulting in a loyal fan base, often called “Parrotheads.” As a long-time part-time resident of Palm Beach County, he was involved in the community, frequently participating in many charity fundraisers, and a cruise ship branded with his song “Margaritaville,” departs from Palm Beach County.
