West Palm Beach Fire Department Hosts 6th Annual 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb
And Inaugural 5K Run & Walk for Charity
WEST PALM BEACH, FL — On Sunday, Sept. 8, 2024, the West Palm Beach Fire Department is proud to host the 6th Annual 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb and Inaugural 5K Walk & Run for charity. This event takes place at 515 N Flagler Drive, West Palm Beach, at 9 a.m., and pays tribute to the lives lost on September 11, 2001.
The West Palm Beach Fire Department 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb is a solemn occasion to honor and remember the heroes and victims of the tragic events that unfolded on that fateful day. Participants will symbolically climb the equivalent of 110 stories, mirroring the harrowing ascent faced by first responders at the World Trade Center.
This year’s 5K and 1-mile race will take participants on an out-and-back course down N. Flagler Drive along the iconic West Palm Beach waterfront. In addition to the stair climb and 5K, the event promises an array of activities for participants and spectators alike, including a friendly CrossFit competition.
Proceeds from this charity event will support two remarkable organizations: Pediatric Oncology Support Team (POST) and Operation 300. The Pediatric Oncology Support Team (POST) provides vital assistance to children and families impacted by pediatric cancer, offering a beacon of hope during their challenging journey. Operation 300 extends support and mentorship to the children of fallen military members, ensuring they receive the guidance and care they deserve.
We invite members of the media, the community, and all those who wish to honor the memory of 9/11 and support these worthy causes to join us at 515 N Flagler Drive, West Palm Beach, on Sunday, Sept. 8, 2024. The race officially starts at 9 a.m.
